What’s there to do in Phoenix, Arizona? Sometimes it’s difficult to find something unique and actually fun to do on a date or day outing, especially if you’re not a local in the area. Some websites have decent lists of activities, but many have very generic suggestions that aren’t particularly engaging. Well, you don’t have to worry about that here! I have searched and curated a list of fun things to do in Phoenix, Arizona.
Outside Physical Activities
That’s right, I said yoga…with goats! Phoenix has the wonderful opportunity to have some active fun with goats, and even cuddling with alpaca and cows. There are set class times as well as private events, and for those that love the outdoors and animals, this is a great experience. It is suggested that you book a class at least one month in advance, so it’s not an activity that you can do off the fly. You can learn more by clicking here on their website.
Yes, you can take flying trapeze classes. While this is not a cheap activity, it is certainly a memorable one. You learn the timing and the technique to get your legs on the bar and your hands off, as well as a backflip dismount into the net. There’s an introduction on the ground and then you work your way up with your instructor. This activity is hosted in Scottsdale, right next to Phoenix. You can check out their website here.
Phoenix Bat Cave
Phoenix in the summer is an especially awesome time because you can visit the local bat cave! From May to October approximately 10,000 to 20,000 bats migrate to Phoenix, Arizona and take daytime naps in a storm drain. You can see them take flight in the evenings and guess what? It’s totally free. The address is 3698-3694 E Colter St, Phoenix, AZ 85018.
Salt River Tubing in Tonto National Forest
Tonto National Forest is the fifth-largest national forest, and you can go tubing there! There are several different drop-off points that provide you with different float times and makes for a refreshing change of pace during a hot spring. The prices aren’t bad, you can check them out here. They are open only during select times, so you better check out their schedule before showing up there.
